BLOG TOUR :: SCHOOLED (TRAVESTY #1) BY PIPER LAWSON (REVIEW)

Synopsis:

Twenty-one year old Alexis Caine is so close to her dream she can taste it. And it tastes like validation and Häagen-Dazs.

In a few months she'll graduate with a shiny new business degree and launch a fashion label with her best friend Ava. All the planning, the dedication, and the saying ‘no’ to everything—and everyone—will have been worth it.

Then Dylan Cameron, Ava’s tall, dark and broody younger brother, returns from the East coast. Lex has hardly seen him in years and given his reputation for partying, girls, and worse, that’s just fine with her.

But suddenly Dylan’s all grown up. And a dangerous night of unplanned confessions for both of them threatens to tear Lex's carefully constructed world off its axis.

Because one sassy control freak plus one prodigal son equals chemistry that refuses to be ignored.

What a beautiful debut novel from Piper Lawson!

It’s well-written, with a fabulous, original story that will draw your attention (in many ways!!).

I loved how Piper chose to develop Dylan’s character and in my opinion, it’s the best attribute this book has. Dylan. Yes, he’s an alpha. No, he isn’t a billionaire or a genius or anything that impressive. Yes, he is well..ah..very talented in that department, but he isn’t the playboy, the one who has the infinite experience we always see from our male leading characters.

Dylan is just a guy who loves Lex, makes mistakes and learns from them. He’s the decent guy we all want in our lives. He’s the sweet guy who can melt our insides.

I truly loved how real he is. How grounded and down to earth. He is approachable and very dreamy, but not a dream no one can catch.

Dylan is what makes this book so good and so special, because he is so good and so very special.

Lex was also a good leading character, with her ups and downs. She is also very real, just like Dylan. She has had a difficult time growing up and that has taken that toll on her. And dare I say that I loved how it ended? Yes, I dare.

What I loved about her is that it wasn’t love at first sight with Dylan. She warmed up to him, slowly let him in and gave her heart to him. His looks didn’t harm, but it was his heart, his goodness that sealed the deal. Or it was his mouth. I guess, we should ask Lex…

Everything about this book screams reality and I adored that! I enjoyed reading a novel where the characters could be my friends and weren’t something so far away from me. And it’s not just their age. It’s who these characters are.

It’s a pretty story with adorable characters we could all be friends with!

A great debut from the author! Well done!

So, Schooled receives a 4 minus, but Dylan, you rock!!

About the Author

Schooled is Piper Lawson’s debut novel. Piper loves reading and writing stories about sassy, sexy, smart women and the guys who fall hard for them.
Piper’s main household expenditures include books, shoes, and chocolate, not necessarily in that order. Coffee = life (and she’ll defend it accordingly, especially when cornered). Piper has two business degrees, neither of which she’s leveraged into a fashion label.
Home is Canada plus occasional sunny winter escapes.
