Interview with Natasha Wilson

In order to celebrate A Simple Touch,Mia's Point Of View welcomes the wonderful and up-coming author Natasha Wilson for an interview as part of her Blog Tour!!

Welcome to my place,Natasha!

I'm so excited to finally meet you!

What inspired you to write this book?
I really just needed to write it for my own mental health. Ideas for the book would come to me all the time and I finally had to write them down so I wouldn’t go crazy.

The characters in your book are fictional. However, I’m wondering whether or not they obtain some part of your own personality, in the end.
I probably have more in common with Jordan. I am so clumsy it is practically a handicap and I have a habit of spewing out whatever is on my mind. So I guess I based her awkwardness on me.

While you were writing it, did you have someone in your mind for the roles of Jordan and Blake?
Chris Hemsworth for Blake and mmm… I don’t know about Jordan..

What was the hardest part of writing your book?
Honestly, the hardest part was finding the time to actually write it. My kids keep me constantly busy.

Is there a message in your book that you wanted to reach the readers?
Love is a miraculous thing—it has the power to heal, destroy and redeem. I hope every book I ever write leaves people with this message.

Which book has influenced your life the most? Why?
It’s not just one book- they all influence me. Every book that I have ever read I have taken something away from. Not all of it good but I always appreciate the author’s words.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor? Or, which writer do you admire the most?
Right now I am in love with Kristen Ashley. She seems like such a cool chick and I would love to meet her.

Are you reading any book right now?
Sorry to say that I’m not. I’ve been slaving away trying to finish my next book.

Besides reading and writing, what are your hobbies? How do you like to spend your free time?
I love hanging out with my children. They make every day an adventure.

On your Goodreads profile, you mention you’re trying to turn your 3 girls into young polite ladies. How is that going? Any  progress?
Ahh, my endless quest. I probably should just give up. My husband doesn’t help matters. At. All. He insists on teaching them how to burp the alphabet and other boyish things. My oldest now wants to play football.

Tell us some fun facts about you, your life or/and your book.
I have a big, dysfunctional family (I’m the youngest of 6). I am a real country girl—I would rather get down and dirty than dress up for cocktails. I do not even own a dress. I live in Texas and still get teased about my “country accent.”

And finally…your “torture” is over. This is my last question.I believe you’re currently writing A Simple Man. What can you tell us about it? Do you have any ideas about your next book, after that?
A Simple Man is Dacey’s story. She has, quite simply, met her match in Gabe. I’ve had a ton of fun writing this one—the interaction between these two characters…hot. I am already working on my next book, it is a standalone titled Finally Letting Go. This is probably my favorite one to write so far because it means the most, emotionally. That’s it *zipping lips now*

I don't know about you,but I certainly enjoyed talking to Natasha and getting to know her!!

Thank you for the lovely interview...
